Orkney Travel - Terms and Conditions - Private Tours
Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When you make a booking with Orkney Travel, you are deemed to have accepted the following.
TOUR PAYMENT
To secure your booking, a 20% deposit is required. You can pay by cash, bank transfer, PayPal or debit/credit card.
Full payment must be made at least 7 days before the tour unless agreed with the company otherwise. We reserve the right to cancel your tour if payment has not been received.
CANCELLATION POLICY
• Up to 30 days before the tour: full refund given
• Less than 30 days before the tour: loss of deposit
• Less than 7 days before the tour: you will be required to pay the full amount
Cruise Ships - In the event that your cruise ship is unable to dock for any reason, Orkney Travel will not be liable and full payment will be required. It is therefore recommended that you purchase suitable travel insurance to cover this eventuality.
Orkney Travel reserves the right to cancel your tour for any reason up until the start time of your tour. If this happens, we will fully refund any money that you have paid. Please note that Orkney Travel would only cancel your tour in exceptional circumstances (eg. Staff illness, vehicle breakdown) and will always do our best to find you a suitable replacement.
CHANGES
If you wish to make any changes to your tour, please let us know at your earliest convenience. We will always do our best to accommodate. If we are unable to accommodate your change then you may cancel your tour subject to the standard cancellation policy.
TOUR ITINERARY
Orkney Travel will always do our best to visit everywhere on your itinerary. However due to limited availability on some sites and site closures, we may not be able to visit everywhere listed. In the event that we are unable to visit a site, we will provide an alternative site to visit instead. Orkney Travel will try and provide as much notice as possible about changes.
LIABILITY
Many of the sites we visit are not very well maintained or have uneven surfaces. You visit these sites entirely at your own risk and Orkney Travel will not be liable.
BEHAVIOUR
Inappropriate or threatening behaviour towards any of our staff, or the staff at any of our destinations, or any other guest on the tour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Inappropriate behaviour or causing a nuisance while travelling in our vehicles or at any destination will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Orkney Travel and the guide has the right to terminate a tour immediately under these circumstances and no refund will be provided.
Any evidence of malicious damage done to historical sites or removing of items from historical sites will result in immediate termination of the tour and details will be passed to appropriate authorities. No refund will be given.
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)
All data will be securely stored upon booking and any print outs of details given to driver/guides will be destroyed once tour has been completed.
