Designed especially for cruise ship visitors, this relaxed scenic tour showcases some of Orkney’s most iconic landscapes and historic highlights. After meeting your driver-guide at the port, you’ll journey through the Heart of Neolithic Orkney to explore the awe-inspiring Standing Stones of Stenness and the magnificent Ring of Brodgar, surrounded by sweeping views and ancient history.

The tour continues to the dramatic cliffs of Yesnaby, where Atlantic waves crash against striking sandstone formations, before heading to the impressive ruins of Earl’s Palace in Birsay, a symbol of Orkney’s powerful past. Your final stop is the charming Kirbuster Farm Museum, offering a glimpse into traditional Orcadian rural life. With a maximum of just 14 guests, this small-group experience ensures comfort, personal insight, and plenty of time to enjoy each remarkable stop before returning to Kirkwall in time for your ship’s departure.

Our Itinerary

  • Scapa Flow - Stunning scenic views across this famous stretch of water used by the Royal Navy during both World Wars.
  • Cliffs of Yesnaby - dramatic cliffs and stunning scenery.
  • Ring of Brodgar - Stone circle and henge monument estimated to be around 4500 years old. Originally made up of 60 standing stones 27 remain standing today.
  • Standing Stones of Stenness - The smaller of two stone circles we will visit today, a beautiful monument built around 3100BC.
  • Earl's Palace, Birsay - A dramatic 16th-century ruin built by the notorious Earl Patrick Stewart, showcasing grand Renaissance architecture and giving a glimpse into the power and ambition of Orkney’s former rulers.
  • Kirbuster Farm Museum - One of Orkney’s best-preserved traditional farmhouses, offering an authentic look at rural life with its original flagstone floors, box beds, and historic farming equipment.
